Derek is a recent addition to Burr & Temkin. He partners with Dave Dandurand in our Kansas City and Dallas offices, assisting with real estate projects in the Central US markets.

Prior to joining Burr & Temkin, Derek spent three years as Business Development Manager for Ryder Systems, Inc, a top transportation, logistics, and supply chain management provider. There Derek served as a key point of contact for all outside sales for the greater Kansas City region. While at Ryder, he gained valuable experience in identifying the specific fleet needs of each client, lead generation, and client satisfaction and retention. Derek steadily exceeded yearly revenue targets and was formally recognized by associates for his outstanding performance.

Before beginning his career in transportation industry sales and management, Derek spent four years in the sports marketing field where he grew sales each quarter, developed his highly effective communication skills, and fostered strong client relationships.

Derek graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management and a minor in Business and is currently studying for his Kansas real estate salesperson license. When not focusing on real estate, Derek enjoys traveling with his wife, golfing, and playing in local softball and basketball leagues.
